Expos Get Past Brewers 3-0 to Open FBNC

The stakes were high. Mark W Davis was ready.
The left-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Milwaukee County Stadium 1976 today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Montreal Expos to victory in Game 1 of the FBN Championship. Davis held the Milwaukee Brewers to 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 13. The win got the best-of-7 series off to a good start for Montreal, which now leads 1-0.
Davis allowed no runs over 9 innings. He also racked up 13 strikeouts.
"Every team in baseball loses," Brewers manager Jeremy Bloxson said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Milwaukee County Stadium 1976 in Milwaukee. The scheduled starters for the game are Michael Steen for Montreal and Atlee Hammaker for Milwaukee.
