Expos Rally Past Dodgers to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Montreal Expos started the Semi-Finals in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a walk-off. Montreal won 6-5 behind a good day from starter Michael Steen. The left-hander threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which gave the Expos a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-5 series.

Garry Templeton was the walk-off hero for Montreal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Expos shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was jumping at the end," Templeton said.

Game 2 is set to be played Tuesday, April 15th, 1947 in Los Angeles. The scheduled starters for the game are Frank Tanana for the Montreal Expos and Mike Scott for the the Los Angeles Dodgers.
