Peckinpaugh, Giants Wallop Mariners in Game 2 of Round 1
Kentucky shortstop Roger Peckinpaugh produced all the offense the Giants would need today in the club's 10-0 win over the Seattle Mariners.

Peckinpaugh went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice, while Kentucky moved into a tie in the First Round 2 Loos and out. The Giants and Mariners are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-3 series.

The Giants took a 9-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Facing Seattle hurler Tommy John with two outs, Peckinpaugh hit a 3-run home run.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Roger Snell said.

Game 3 is scheduled for tomorrow at Kentucky Park. Slated to start are Steve Busby for the Seattle Mariners and Ownie Carroll for the the Kentucky Giants.
