Warriors Cruise to FBN Championship with Sweep
Thursday, May 16th, 1946
The Wabash Warriors proved to be too much to handle for the Anchorage Huskies in the Semi-finals, and a sweep was the end result.
Wabash punched its ticket to the FBN Championship on the strength of a 7-3 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 3-0.
Wabash left fielder Bob Fothergill, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Anchorage pitching to the tune of a .727 average, with a .727 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Wabash Warriors don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Union Township Sodbusters - Montreal Expos series. Montreal leads the series 2 game to 1. The FBN Championship is scheduled to begin on May 20th, 1946.
