Boston Sweeps into the Round 2
Monday, April 15th, 1946
The Boston Red Sox outclassed the Huntington Station Ramrods in all facets of the game throughout the FBN Round 1.
The end result was a Boston series sweep to advance to the Round 2, capped off by a 10-0 win in the final game.
"We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said third baseman George Brett, who hit .556 in the series.
Brett's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .600 on-base percentage and had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Boston Red Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the St. Louis Cardinals - Manchester Mooses series. Manchester leads the series 1 games to 0. The Round 2 is scheduled to begin on April 17th, 1946.
