Dodgers Cruise to Semi-Finals with Sweep Sunday, April 6th, 1947 The Los Angeles Dodgers are on to the Semi-Finals after a convincing series win over the Manchester Mooses. Los Angeles wrapped up the series sweep with a 8-7 win in the last game, to take the series 2-0. "We expected to win and we executed the way we needed to," said Billy Sample, who was named series MVP. For the series, Sample hit .636 with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Los Angeles Dodgers will play against the Montreal Expos in the next round. Montreal won their series against the Tampa Smokers 2 games to 0.
