Parker Spins 1-0 Shutout
|
In a remarkable performance, Reading Phillies starter Mark Parker beat the Pawtucket Paw Sox 1-0 in an impressive 7-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Phillies hurler finished with 11 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Pawtucket manager said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
For the season Parker is 4-and-0 with no saves and a 2.66 ERA. He has given up 50 hits in 64.1 innings with 49 strikeouts.
