On the season he compiled a .290 batting average to go with a .432 on-base percentage. The native of The United States also added 25 doubles, 3 triples, 33 home runs, 83 RBIs and 82 runs scored.
Burke Tops Eastern League Pitchers Monday, October 4th, 1982 Tim Burke of the Reading Phillies had a fine 21-4 season in 1982 and today claimed the Eastern League Pitcher of the Year Award.
He started 27 times, threw 229.2 innings while collecting 176 strikeouts and fashioned a 1.96 ERA. Burke allowed only 175 hits, 85 walks and a .211 opponents' batting average.
