Dan Pasqua Takes MVP Trophy
Tuesday, September 28th, 1982
At the age of 20, Dan Pasqua of the Tacoma Cubs could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 1982 was good enough to win the center fielder the Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .255 batting average this year, as well as a .330 on-base percentage. He played 118 games and racked up 118 hits, 14 doubles, 3 triples, 33 home runs, 85 RBIs and 85 runs scored.
He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 9. Willie Gonzalez of the Tacoma Cubs finished second in voting, while Joe Devitt of the Tacoma Cubs finished third with 2 first place votes.
