Scott Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Sunday, August 15th, 1982
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.
Rodney Scott of the Tucson Toros had one such moment at Hi Corbett Field today, when he went 5 for 6 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Tucson fell to a 5-3 defeat to the Hawaii Islanders.
"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 28-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."
Rodney Scott singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
For the season Scott is currently batting .216 with 1 home run and 13 RBIs. In 58 games he has reached base at a .257 rate and scored 37 runs to date.
