So far in his young career, Mark Gillaspie has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Pacific Coast League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 23-year-old Spokane Indians right fielder hit at a torrid .471 clip as he collected 8 hits in 17 at-bats, 1 home run, 11 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
For the season Gillaspie is hitting .238, batted in 54 runs with 13 home runs and 41 runs scored.
