Valley Honored by Pacific Coast League Monday, August 23rd, 1982 The Pacific Coast League presented its Player of the Week Award to Hawaii Islanders first baseman Charles Valley. "His numbers speak for themselves," a club publicist said. "He's been really seeing the ball well." Indeed, Valley has. Last week he went 14 for 23, batted .609 with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs. So far in 1982 Valley is batting .276 with 23 home runs, 58 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has 80 hits in 290 at-bats and a .375 OBP. |
