Bees Shut Out Missions, Lerner Winner Sunday, August 29th, 1982 Lew Lerner kept the San Jose Missions hitters from doing any damage at Ballpark at San Jose today. San Jose could only muster 4 hits and take 1 walk against the right-handed Lerner, who controlled them throughout the game as Salt Lake City took the contest, 5-0. Lerner added 5 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Lerner told reporters after the shutout win.
