Torrid August Gets Gillaspie PCL #1 Batter Trophy Wednesday, September 1st, 1982 At only 23 years of age, Mark Gillaspie could very well be having many more months like the last this in his career. That would be great news for fans of the Spokane Indians, as August was one to remember for the right fielder and he has captured the Pacific Coast League Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .329 with 6 home runs, 24 RBIs and 16 runs scored. In this current campaign Gillaspie is hitting at a .244 clip with 17 home runs and 66 RBIs. |
