Gomez Acclaimed Top Pitcher in August Wednesday, September 1st, 1982 Jerry Gomez is at the zenith of his career and today he was selected as the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Month for August. He made no relief appearances for San Jose last month, throwing 50.1 innings and collecting no saves, a 5-1 record, 41 strikeouts and a 1.97 ERA. For the year Gomez has collected no saves in no relief appearances. He has also notched 165 strikeouts and 54 walks in 212.1 innings while registering a 2.67 ERA and a 15-10 won-lost record. |
