Emeralds Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Tuesday, September 7th, 1982 Fans of the Eugene Emeralds who thought the club was playoff-bound may have been a little too optimistic this year. The team was officially eliminated from postseason contention today. The Emeralds have missed the playoffs 9 times in their 12 years as a Pacific Coast League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 5th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1976. In the last 10 seasons, the Emeralds have missed the playoffs 7 times. |
