Wiggins Bashes 5 Base Hits
Tuesday, August 3rd, 1982
It seemed that Auburn second baseman Alan Wiggins could do no wrong as the Red Stars KO'd the Indians, 11-4 today. Wiggins rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Indians hurlers were throwing.

"I think the Red Stars were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Oneonta fan after the game.

"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Wiggins in the postgame press interview.

Alan Wiggins singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Rich Surhoff in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Wiggins is currently hitting at a .190 pace with 2 home runs and 11 RBIs.
