Great Day for Mora -- 5 Hits
Thursday, April 30th, 1970
It was a good day at Ballpark of Lexington HS. The Scranton HS Cows whipped the Mt. Vernon HS Foxes 25-3 and center fielder Jesus Mora showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-6 at the plate.

"Some days, lady luck is on your side," Mora told BNN reporters after the game.

Cows manager told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 17-year-old "focused and patient."

"It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Jesus hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."

Jesus Mora hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jack Gendron in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This season Mora has banged out 40 hits in 116 at-bats for a .345 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .381 pace and his totals also include 22 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
