| Razor Sharks End Dreyer's Streak Sunday, May 10th, 1970 For 24 straight games, Myles Dreyer tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.
Well, the 16-year-old Cherry Hill HS Tapirs third baseman can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Silver Spring HS Razor Sharks. The Razor Sharks held him hitless in 1 at-bat at Mud Cats Ballpark today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 24.
There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Tapirs took the win by the score of 20-15.
"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."
For the year Dreyer is batting .354 with 1 home run, 24 RBIs and 33 runs scored. | |
