 | Wilder Goes 5-for-5 Thursday, April 2nd, 1970 At Ballpark of Ft. Worth HS today, Mike Wilder of the Cranston HS Loons put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled the Fall River HS Bloodhounds pitching staff, but Cranston HS still came up short on the scoreboard. The Loons went home with the 7-1 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their shortstop. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Wilder said in the postgame interview.
