5-for-5 Day for Reese
Sunday, March 21st, 1971
Fred Reese put on a hitting clinic today as the Cheektowaga HS Shorebirds dumped the Madison HS Dodgers 16-8 at Things Ballpark.

The Cheektowaga HS right fielder made Madison HS defenders earn their pay, lashing Madison HS pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Reese said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Fred Reese singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

To date Reese has chalked up a .361 average with 1 home run, driven in 11 runs and scored 21 times.
