| Great Day for Sandusky -- 5 Hits Tuesday, April 4th, 1972 It seemed that Billerica HS first baseman Greg Sandusky could do no wrong as the Black Cats KO'd the Shorebirds, 19-8 today. Sandusky rapped out 5 hits in 7 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Shorebirds hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Black Cats were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Cheektowaga HS fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Sandusky in the postgame press interview.
Greg Sandusky struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
So far this year in 47 games Sandusky is hitting .393 with 5 home runs, 38 RBIs and 43 runs scored.
