| Great Day for Adams -- 5 Hits Wednesday, April 5th, 1972 It seemed that Freeport Senior HS first baseman Harry Adams could do no wrong as the Pretzels KO'd the Steeldogs, 18-10 today. Adams rapped out 5 hits in 7 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Steeldogs hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Pretzels were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Erie HS fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Adams in the postgame press interview.
Harry Adams singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
So far this year in 48 games Adams is hitting .398 with 6 home runs, 53 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
