Yes, It's a No-No by Brett
Wednesday, April 3rd, 1946
In a true baseball rarity, Ken Brett of the Boston Red Sox no-hit the Springfield Squirrels at Yankee Stadium 1938 today and -- incredibly -- still took the loss.

The left-handed Brett shackled the Squirrels all game, allowing no hits over 0.1 innings. However, Springfield was able to cobble together enough through other means to outscore the hapless Red Sox offense and take an unlikely 2-0 win.

"There's no getting around it, we mucked it up for Ken today," Boston manager Jeff Blim said. "We always tell them 'Go out there and pitch a good game and we'll take care of the rest.' Well, he gave us an incredible game and we blew it, plain and simple."

A visibly upset Brett declined to speak with BNN reporters following the game. He recorded 1 strikeout and surrendered no walks in a sensational performance that will nevertheless go into the league record books as a loss.
