Round 1 Goes the Distance, Cincinnati Prevails

A classic and dramatic Round 1 has wrapped up, with the Cincinnati Reds outlasting the Wabash Warriors to advance to the Round 2.

Cincinnati won the final game by a score of 4-1 and took the series 2-1.

"We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Cincinnati shortstop Dave Concepcion, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP.

Concepcion hit .231 with a .286 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Cincinnati Reds will play against the Union Township Sodbusters in the next round. Union Township won their series against the Minnesota Twins 2 games to 0. The Round 2 is scheduled to begin on April 17th, 1946.
